Research Funding

The ASCC is a Category 1 Funding Agency on the Australian Grants register.

Research funding is provided in the areas of fundamental stem cell research, therapeutic stem cell research aligned with the Therapeutic Programs of the ASCC, and for the provision of access to technologies by ASCC-funded researchers (Enabling Technology grants).

There are three processes for applying for ASCC funding.

1. Expression of Interest

The ASCC maintains a continuous application procedure for funding support. The initial phase of this process is the ‘Expression of Interest’. These may be unsolicited approaches or may be requested by ASCC Management.

2. New Project Applications

ASCC management may request a full ‘New Project Application’ in response to an initial Expression of Interest or may solicit New Project Applications directly from researchers identified as providing strategic skills to the portfolio.

3. Calls for Applications

The ASCC will periodically advertise nationally for ‘Expressions of Interest’ or ‘New Project Applications’ in specific therapeutic or fundamental areas of research.
